Most of my rides lately have included short trips to the store, coffee shop or library, and my townie bike was lacking a handy small basket and bag combo. Enter the $120 Portland Design Works Takeout Basket, which includes a waterproof roll-top bag with clips.
The 10mm alloy tubes make for a fairly bulbous looking basket compare to the standard wire Wald baskets I’ve used forever, but when you’re seeking versatility and then some, it makes sense. There’s a threaded eyelet on the left side, which we plan to fill with a Paul Components Gino light mount next week. The front of the 500 gram basket includes a slot for a small U-lock.
Dimensions: 155mm x 255mm x 105mm (inside of basket). Looks like it will also fit most drop bars (with cables routed under the tape).
