Colorado bicycle rider Robert Minner is riding his bike 2,000 miles from his home in Greeley, Colorado, to his hometown area of Pennsburg, Pennsylvania to raise funds for his great-nephew Myles, born ten weeks premature.
“I have been given an opportunity to ‘pay it forward’ for the help family and friends have given me over my two year battle with cancer (multiple myeloma),” the 65-year-old Minner told Bicycle Times. “My great-nephew Myles was born ten weeks premature and spent nearly seven months in intensive care at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. His parents are facing immense medical expenses.”
Minner will depart on Memorial Day, May 25 and plans to arrive on July 4, six weeks later. For more information on his Miles for Myles journey, visit www.crowdrise.com/milesformyles.
