Mini velodrome rolling into Portland

Sometimes a college final project can leave your head spinning in circles, but for Sam Starr at Pomona College, it was more than just his head.

Starr designed and built the Circulus, a mini, circular velodrome in an empty library lobby in the spring of 2010. According to his artists’ statement, it juxtaposes "the intense movement and noise of the bicycle and rider with the silent reverence implicit in the library space."

Now the word is that Circulous has found a permanent home in Portland having been purchased by Portland Design Works.

How long do you think you would last in there?
