Karl took instant notice of this booth, as he’s been searching for a good way to hook up a bike with speakers. Boombotix has figured it out. These are cute but tough speakers you can mount to a handlebar.
They’re water-resistant and coated in soft plastic to handle getting bumped around. The Bluetooth wireless version goes for $65, and a wired version is $45. You can hook up multiple wired ones with an adapter for the "surround" sound experience, and they’re working on an app to power multiple wireless units. The speakers have rechargeable lithium-ion batteries that last six hours.
Boombotix staff were seen towing a couple of huge speakers around via bike trailer, bumping the tunes throughout the Dirt Demo aisles.
It doesn’t end here, we’ve got a lot more coverage of Interbike 2011.
